Rub n' Buff Wall Stencil ~ How To

Hey there everyone!  Here is a quick little "how to" on the Rub n' Buff metallic wax wall stencil.  It's a really easy thing to do.  First pick out your stencil.  I always use a large stencil when I'm using Rub n' Buff.  One, because I just like the way it looks, and TWO, because it saves time!  You have to go over each stencil with either your finger or a small brush one by one so you can imagine how long that might take if you decided to use a small wall stencil and repeat it over an entire wall.   The stencil I used is from Stencils-decals

Paint it on.  For the stencil above I used a small paint brush and diluted the Silver Leaf Rub n' Buff with a little Deglosser.  And, when I say a little, I mean A LITTLE. : )  I always pour the Deglosser in the bottom of a small cup and put a blob of Rub n' Buff on the side of the cup, then dip my brush corner in the Deglosser and smear it into the Rub n' Buff on the side of the cup.  Only use enough Deglosser so that the Rub n' Buff will smear around on the side, but not enough that it drips down to the bottom.  Use tape to hold the stencil on the wall.  Then press your stencil firmly against the wall with one hand and paint.

Or, use your finger with or without a cloth.  I usually use an old t-shirt wrapped around my finger and a latex glove when I'm doing the entire stencil this way.

On this stencil I used Turquoise Rub n' Buff on the outside tips of the stencil.

I dabbed a super small amount directly onto the wall from the tube and rubbed it around with my finger (no cloth).

See super easy to do!  A little time consuming but worth it.  I think.

Smiles!
