I always see these fireplace "thingies" at flea markets and on craigslist and am always drawn to them for some reason. I just think they are pretty... but not for the fireplace. I came across this one recently and decided what the heck, I'm gonna buy it. I wish I had taken a before picture of it when I brought it home... but... I forgot...sorry. It was brass, but not anymore...
For those of you that have been following my blog for a while... I'll give you two guesses what I did to it, but I bet you only need one! Yep, Rub n' Buff! I used Silver Leaf and Pearl Blue, then, I plopped it on top of my "stainless steel look" desk, and called it a day.
So what do you think? Am I crazy? I will admit that I have a problem with not being able to use things the way they were intended to be used! I think it makes a nifty decorative statement though.
