Ok, back to the furniture! Here is a quick before and after of a little settee I found at the flea market some time back. Here's what it looked like when I found it.
Pieces like this are normally pretty easy to reupholster. (Excluding the back of this little settee). Usually there are just staples or tacks under the fabric trim/cording.
Pull off the the fabric trim/cording, then pull out the staples and remove the fabric.
Blue velvet to the rescue! I opted to make the back flat, and just keep the scallop shape on the top of the back. What do you think? Should I go back and do the seamed sunken look?... I'm thinking the flat back has a more modern feel to it, which is what I was going for.
