Inspiration strikes at the home improvement store! I obviously have a thing for metal (and desks). Whether it's metallic wax or the real thing, I like it. So what does that lead to while walking around the home improvement store? Here is what I laid my little eyes on.... Flashing! What's better than a big roll of metal? Ohhhh so many possibilities!
OK so Flashing is that stuff you use on your roof, right? Looks that way from the picture on the roll. I couldn't tell you what to do with it there, but, I can tell you lots of things to do with it inside!
Here is one of the things I saw when I looked at it.
A desk redo!

and... here it is now!
The Flashing I used was a relatively thin roll of aluminum, which is perfect for creating a stainless steel look. The cool thing is you can cut it with metal sheet scissors. Just measure, mark, and cut your pieces, then attach them with nailhead trim.
Of course my trusty "Silver Leaf" Rub n' Buff went around the small trim pieces for a more seamless look.
How cool is that? It's super reflective! But just like your refrigerator, you do have to clean off your finger prints.
