Ribbon Wrapped Chandelier Redo

So, have you ever ended up doing a random DIY project just because you had a pile of stuff sitting on your table, looked at it and thought.... I wonder what that.... would look like..... wrapped around that?  Then an hour later you end up with a Bedazzled chandelier staring you in the face.  Happens to me all the time.  Well not the Bedazzled part but lots of little quirky DIY makeovers.  I never had a Bedazzler when I was younger (or now).  I hate to think what would have happened if someone had given me one with my compulsion to try things I like on everything I see.  I probably would have ended up with a bedroom completely covered in a DIY rhinestone wallpaper.... hmmm there's an idea... just kidding.  So anyway back to my chandelier.  I'll just get right to it.  This is what it looked like when I started,

Just a basic black chandelier (I had already hung a few crystals from the bottom).

and now...glama-fied!
It'd be a great look around the holidays.  Too bad I didn't think about it sooner.
  Here it is after
(couple of pictures with different lighting)

Actually it turned out a little more glam-tastic than I had thought it would.

I only used a dab of glue on the top ball and the little bottom ball to hold the cording together, the rest is just wrapped tightly, so it will be easy to remove if I get tired of it.

It's wide wired ribbon folded in half and then tightly wrapped around all the arms of the chandelier.  The wire does a great job at holding things in place without needing adhesive.

Then a few spare crystal chandelier parts I got off ebay are attached to the fabric with thin wire that came out of my extra ribbon.

I should learn not to leave a pile of stuff like this laying around.  Out of sight out of mind.
(these are the leftovers)

Now I just have to find some new shades for it...
So what do you think?

Smiles!
