Are you tired of seeing snippets of the this room without the full monty? Me too! ~ HA But, only a few more projects and it will be ALL DONE! In the meantime check out the newest additions to the room. To refresh your memory, here was the room when it all started. Previous posts here, and here.
So if you've been following my blog for a while now you probably already know that I'm a huge fan of neutral rooms with big pops of color. If you're new around here... now you know... I love neutrals with a pop of color (at the minute). This room is all about the gold and gray and the pop of color.....BLUE. It's also a mix of modern and traditional. Mrs. homeowner didn't want to change the paint color or the carpet, just the furniture.
First off, check out this fabulous rug! It's the over dyed look. I saw it on One Kings Lane for a hot second, but actually found it for a little less on overstock.com.
It was ordered... it has arrived...and is now in the room.
These brown and red checked chairs have finally been recovered. They looked ok from far away.... really far away! ~heeheehaha
but up close not the look we were going for.
Now they are a pretty gray velvet (below). This velvet is an indoor/outdoor upholstery fabric! Which makes it super durable and cleanable. Calico Corners has it in several different colors. It has such a pretty sheen to it.
Here's the rug again in different lighting. I'm really happy with the look of this rug, it has an expensive look to it. It was a good buy!
I love big, bold, and bright artwork. It might not be for everyone but fortunately the homeowner likes bright pops of color too. I made a couple of these large art pieces for the room, and am still deciding if I want to add a frame around them or not. Unframed, they add a bigger punch of modern to the room... but we'll see how they end up.
And... add a little sparkle to any room with decanters! They're pretty aren't they?!
They're pretty with a flower or plant cuttings in them too. Just love 'em.
It's really starting to take shape. Can't wait to show you the finished room. Hopefully soon after the holidays we can get this sucker wrapped up!
Smiles!
Sammy,
~Renew Redo~
